Handel - Israel In Egypt - Exeter

I performed Handel’s Israel in Egypt with Devon Baroque at the Mint Methodist Church in Exeter on Saturday 25th June 2022. The performance was conducted by Andrea Brown and it featured the Exeter Festival Chorus and soloists from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Devon Baroque was led by Persephone Gibbs and the brass section featured Russell Gilmour (first trumpet), Katie McClaughry (second trumpet), Martyn Sanderson (first trombone), Elinor Chambers (second trombone) and Guy Morley (bass trombone).

I set off towards Exeter on Friday evening, and I stayed in a hotel just an hour away to reduce my driving time on Saturday and to try and avoid the traffic of the Glastonbury Festival and the busy roads as a result of the ongoing rail strike. After the performance, I travelled from West to East across the country. I stayed in a hotel near Reading, and I travelled to Kent in preparation for an early rehearsal and an early afternoon performance in the Stour Music Festival in East Kent on Sunday.
