I played first trumpet with the Suffolk Baroque Players for Aldeburgh Music Club Choir’s performance of Handel’s Messiah, which was conducted by Edmond Fivet CBE. The concert took place on Saturday 18th of November 2017 in the wonderful venue of Snape Maltings at 7pm. The soloists were Zöe Bonner (Soprano), Amy Lyddon (Mezzo-Soprano), Christopher Bowen (Tenor) and Alex Ashworth (Bass). I performed The Trumpet Shall Sound with Alex, a task that I enjoyed this evening and have enjoyed in the past on numerous occasions (over many years now) with Solomon’s Knot.

It was great to be back at Snape Maltings, after a memorable visit with Vox Luminis earlier in the year.

I arrived early and had time to enjoy the surroundings, taking a good walk by the River Alde at high water.
