Performing “Let the Bright Seraphim” and Purcell “Trumpet Voluntary” at Westminster Abbey, London

I was very fortunate to be asked to play in Westminster Abbey and what a fantastic experience it was! The acoustic was phenomenal and the sound of the trumpet reverberated for around ten seconds (or so it felt).

I performed with Soprano, Anna Sandstrøm, who I met at Dartington earlier this year and performed with at the “Bogan House” in Totnes (Devon) as part of Dartington International Summer School.

The chosen repertoire was based around works by composers (and authors) buried in Westminster Abbey. Therefore I played “Let the Bright Seraphim” by Handel and Purcell’s “Trumpet Tune” with fine chamber and church organ playing of James McVinnie.
